A visit from Chet

October 20th, 2008

The Stenhouse office had a furry visitor this week. Chet is a traveling bear from Chets Creek Elementary School in Jacksonville, Florida. Students follow his adventures from Africa, to Boston, to Maine, through his blog.

While you are reading about Chet’s adventures, also visit the school website. Every classroom has its own blog where teachers and parents can stay up to date on what’s happening in class, and students can display their work.

Thanks for highlighting our friend, Chet. I think he really loved his visit to Stenhouse. He is traveling all over the world this year so our students can learn about this wonderful world where we live. It says so much about a company like Stenhouse, that would take the time to allow our children to peek into the business of publishing through this adventure. Thank you, Stenhouse, for being the type of company that cares.

Thanks for giving Chet, and our students, this unique opportunity to learn about publishing! We have some wonderfully promising young writers here. Who knows, perhaps one day their words will run through your presses!

We liked it when Chet told us about the big stack of paper you use to print the newspapers. That was nice of you to let our bear visit. Sincerely, Mrs. Morrid and Mrs. Metzger’s Third Graders
