Happy World Read Aloud Day!

We are excited to once again participate in World Read Aloud Day and bring you three of our authors reading their own poems. We hope that you will all get a chance to read aloud today to your class, your kids, colleagues, or listen to a great read-aloud by someone else.

First, Lynne Dorfman reads her original poem “A Gift” from her book Poetry Mentor Texts:

Rose Cappelli reads her poem “The Coat,” inspired by Donald Graves’ poem “Summer Squash”. This poem also appears in Poetry Mentor Texts.

Steve Layne reads his poem “Read to Them” from his upcoming book Life’s Literacy Lessons, a collection of poems to be published by Stenhouse later this year:
